CHARGE YOUR CRYSTALS TONIGHT!

Do you work with crystals/gemstones in any way?

Perhaps you just have a few laying around the house?

Do you own any jewellery with crystals or gemstones?  yes, even Diamonds?

Tonight the full moon is the perfect time to re-charge them.

Why?  When gems, crystals, or rocks of any type are in the earth, they are exposed to earth energies including magnetic energy fields and electric energy fields.  These energies come in a variety of ways including the inner workings of our planet, energy grids surrounding our planet, and from energies from the broader Universe, of which our planet Earth is a very active member.

It’s important to remember that gems and crystals once removed from the Earth need to be cleansed and energized on a regular basis.

Your gems, crystals, jewellery, pendulums, basically anything around you, or on you, can attract positive and negative energy and hold that energy unless the object is cleansed.

Suggested ways of cleansing and re charging:

The following are a few suggested methods for cleansing crystals, gems, pendulums and jewellery.  These methods can also be used to cleanse other objects:

 The Sun and MOON:

Start by clearing them of any negative energy. Simply light some Sage and run the stones through the smoke of the Sage, and as you do say "I am clearing you of any negative energy you have picked up along your journey." . Then, using the power of your intention, visualise the stones being cleansed and cleared of any energetic debris. If you don't have access to Sage, just use the power of your intention to clear them. Then place the stones outside, under the moonlight or the sun. If you like, say a little blessing or prayer- asking the power of the moon to re-charge and re-energize your stones.

Wait until the morning before re-collecting your gemstones. When you retrieve them- you will immediately feel a difference in their vibrational output and they will surely thank you for giving them this opportunity to renew their life force.

 Running Water:

If you live where you have access to good clear well water that is guaranteed to be free of chemicals, or running water from a stream or river that you know is not polluted, place your crystals and gems in a small container, and let the water run over them, preferably for at least two hours.  This will cleanse and re-energize your gems and crystals.  Please do not use tap water, since it is full of chemicals.  Be careful though because certain stones will actually dissolve in water, e.g. Red Selenite.

You can also place any gemstone in a glass of mineral water- set an intention into the entire glass, with the stone in it, and leave it out, under the moonlight, all night long. When you wake up in the morning, drink the glass of water (but be careful not to swallow the stone!) Whatever intention you put into the glass/stone the night before will be magnified and mirrored back into your life as you drink the water. Take advantage of all the phases of the Moon, for they are here to empower us!

Whatever methods you choose, treat your gems and crystals with tender and loving kindness.  These stones can do so much to heal at all levels including the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual levels.  They are gifts from the Universe and we need to treat them with respect and gratitude.

If you no longer want to keep a crystal or gem, take it outside and bury it so it may return to Mother Earth, from whence it came.

'Super Moon' 5th May 2012

If a moonbeam wakes you up on the night of May 5th, 2012, you might want to get out of bed and take a look!

This May’s full Moon is a "super Moon,” as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012.

This new moon is already affecting many with sleepless night last night to dreams above and beyond normal but all are experiencing heightened energies! including myself !

Today from first waking my emotions have been off the scale!! I couldn't work out why to begin with until i read a message from an acquaintance, and now it makes a lot of sense!

Below i have put the comment that was written:

"This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can't sit on our feelings. We need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between collecting and sharing.

With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic "illumination" occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It's time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet. Full Moons are about exposing or illuminating issues that are already there, but that have not yet been dealt with."

So enjoy the moon tonight as it won't be like this again for at least another year, but be aware of how it can affect you.

Also
If you work with crystals then remember that tonight is a fantastic time to charge and energise them by the moon :)

Or

If you have any crystals or gemstones in your house or in any jewellery, i will be posting how you can also charge these.

Help for stressed students

I am sharing this article, as i to have had great results helping teenagers going through run up to G.C.S.E's.

I think this is a fantastic idea and more schools/colleges should think about such projects just as hospitals did (now most hospitals have Reiki therapists attached to them).

Equine Reiki Treatment

Horses like other animals are very receptive to the energies of a Reiki treatment. They work with energy all of the time, its how they communicate between themselves and how they pick up on our moods etc. So they go with what they feel and usually relax into a treatment very quickly.

You can get various signs that the horse is relaxing into the treatment such as:

~ standing very still

~ lowering their head

~ ears at half mast position

~ resting a hind leg

~ passing wind/droppings

~ urinating

~ stomach gurgling

~ going for a drink

~ licking/chewing

~ twitching muscles

Each horse is individual so there may be unique signs to them.
The horse may change positions and place the part of their body they wish to have Reiki sent to against my hands.

Reiki will go to where ever it is needed and will work on all levels be it physical, mental or emotional. As a Reiki therapist we do not diagnose and therefore if your horse is unwell you must seek advise from your vet in the first instance, but Reiki is used by many vets as a complementary treatment to work alongside conventional treatments.
You must let your vet know you wish to have a Reiki treatment for your horse but this usually is only a matter of a phone call to the surgery.
Reiki is also good to keep your horse in a balanced state, and as a preventative treatment, before high stress events,it can help before competitions and even for issues as in loading. Reiki also can help for nervous riders as the horse may pick up on the nervousness so a treatment for horse and rider can make all the difference.

Reiki in animal shelters/sanctuaries/rescue organisations

Many animals that find themselves in shelters/sanctuaries/rescue organisations have experienced some kind of traumatic situation, quite often involving humans to one degree or another.

Reiki can be a great tool to use with these animals as it can be a big boost to the healing of trust between the animal and humans again.

It is especially helpful because it is gentle and non-invasive. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results.

For the animal that is suffering from behavioral or aggressive issues, that at time of entering can not be adopted/re-homed it can have amazing results. It may not be instantly you see  huge changes, and may take a few treatments to start noticing, but there will be changes and with the use of distant Reiki these treatments can be sent when the practitioner has left the shelter etc. as an on going process. This can and quite often is the difference of finding that happy ending or not!

Also for the animals that may be depressed at their situation as well as those that have had injuries causing them to be in the shelters, all can be helped with a treatment and respond well.

Animals respond intuitively to the energy of Reiki to help emotional, behavioral issues as working with energy is  nothing new to them, they work with energy constantly it is how they have always interacted between their own and with humans, and many just need to have the comfort of what they know to help assure them that life can be good for them and that they can trust us humans again.

I personally believe that we owe these animals the chance of a loving caring home and a fulfilled life, so if you are able to offer a little time, you can really benefit the animals and the shelters/sanctuaries/rescue organisations, as well as you will benefit from the wonderful and rewarding feelings you get from being part of this unconditional gift that is shared between you and the animals.

So go on......go pay any animal shelters/sanctuaries/rescue organisations near you a visit and offer your services if you are a Reiki practitioner, see it as a little pay forward for the gift you have received!!

Reiki and the Chakras (our energy centres).

In the simplest meaning, chakras are the subtle but powerful energy centres inside the human body.

The word "Chakra" is actually derived from an Indian word which means wheel or circle. Chakra is of Sanskrit origin and has been used in almost all of the traditional ways of healing in the East. The concept of chakras has been used for over a hundred years.

In Reiki, there are seven chakras or energy centres that we concentrate on when using the standard hand placements (Our bodies do also have many minor chakras of which there are at least 122). Each chakra works with a group of vital organs, as well as dealing with different aspects of our being (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual). However, these chakras can be prone to deficiencies and imbalances or as we sometimes say “become sluggish”. This is where Reiki can help.

Keeping our Chakra’s functioning correctly is vitally important to our health, because disruptions in energy flow leads to illness.

Reiki treatments aim to clear the chakras of negative energy, open and balance them therefore restoring the harmonious flow of life-force energy, which then leads to us achieving health and overall well-being.

The seven Chakras and there characteristics and functions:

The 7 Chakras:
Colour
Related parts of the body
Effects when balanced
Effects if not functioning properly
Root
red
Kidneys, adrenal glands, leg bones, large intestines, rectum, and spinal column.
It grounds us physically, gives us healthy desire for the basics of life.
We may be afraid of life, withdraw from physical reality, feel victimized, operate in a highly selfish mode, or be prone to violence. Can lead to problems of the feet, legs and lower back.
Sacral
orange
Prostate gland, reproductive system, spleen, bladder.
Fuel our creativity, emotions, and sexuality.
Can result in over-indulgence in sex or food, sexual or reproductive disorders, and feelings of jealousy and confusion.
Solar Plexus
yellow
Liver, stomach, gall bladder, small intestines, and pancreas. It is associated with a person's intellectual processes.
Can transform all your aspirations and hopes into reality. We feel self-confident and have a clear sense of purpose.
Insecurity about physical and financial matters and the need to dominate others.
Digestive disorders.
Heart
green (secondary colour: pink)
Thymus glands, heart, lower lungs, circulatory system, skin, hands.
The link from the physical world towards spiritual existence. It is also the centre of one's emotions, especially the emotion of love. The giving and receiving of unconditional love.
Feelings of sadness fear and anger and can lead to heart disease.
Throat
blue
Thyroid gland, throat and jaw areas, lungs, vocal cords, digestive tract.
We speak and listen in the spirit of truth and constructively express anger and other emotions. Can improve our psychic hearing ability.
Communication suffers. We may overindulge in eating and drinking and suffer from respiratory diseases, dental disorders, and low self-esteem. Feelings of anger, hostility and resentment.
Third-eye
Indigo
Brain, nose, face, left eye, and almost all of the organs situated in the head. It also has power over the lower brain, pituitary gland, and the central nervous system.
Opens your intuition. It allows a person to visualize, manifest, and even create visions beyond ordinary sight.
Fear of the imagination, dreams and our "irrational" intuitive insights. Persistent headaches (especially in the centre of the forehead), insomnia, anxiety and depression.
Crown
Violet and white
Pineal gland, upper brain, right eye. Also corresponds to the person's whole being. It can enhance one's psychic abilities
It is our direct connection to spirit. Can experience true inner peace.
Feeling lonely, fearing death, and needing to compare ourselves (often unfavourably) to others.

Stressed? Finding it hard to concentrate?

Many people find it hard to cope with the pressures of modern living. Every day, a quarter of a million people miss work because of stress, with 75 per cent of all illnesses thought to be stress-related. And when times are hard, It can be difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Practising mindfulness can help give you more insight into your emotions, boost your attention and concentration and improve relationships. It's proven to help with stress, anxiety, depression and addictive behavior, and can even have a positive effect on physical problems.

Mikao Usui introduced his students to the concept of Mindfulness at each degree stage of Reiki and it is believed that the 'Precepts', that are Mikao Usui's guidelines for living, show this.

Mindfulness is really focusing on that moment and by doing that we can become more aware of our thoughts and feelings so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we're better able to manage them. So we are not judging, reflecting or thinking just living for that moment.
Mindfulness is stated in The oxford dictionary's as:

  • the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.
  • a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
Although it commonly used as a meditation technique it can work well when carrying out everyday mundane tasks!

Since starting my personal journey with Reiki, and first being introduced to Mindfulness with Reiki 1 (Shoden) I have found it really does help!
I use it whilst carrying out my daily Reiki energy exercises, meditations as well as times of stress, and even whilst doing the washing up!! it does become easier so that you just do it with out even conciously thinking about it.

Give it a go, you probably do it to a certain extent already:

Have you ever told anyone to "stop and take a breath, don't think about it for a while"?

Well thats the start, you are advising them to stop worrying about past or future issues and just concentrate on that breath, and in that moment nothing else matters your only paying attention to that breath in that moment. That is mindfulness and it can help people change the way they think, feel and act.

The image below sums it up quite nicely i think!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hectic life? Stop ... take a breath ..... and be kind to yourself, here's why!

When our lives are hectic, and/or issues are taking us off track of where we think we should be then we need to stop and take a breath, and look inwards.

When we lose sight of what is happening, or we don't look after ourselves as a whole (inside and out) our energies run low, or our energy channels can become blocked, when this happens it will have negative effects on us. We can change this very easily by being kind to ourselves and listening and looking after our bodies, maybe treating ourselves to a holistic therapy such as Reiki, it can do wonders on many levels and we will be able to cope and move forwards, as well as feeling great!

Reiki isn't only a relaxing and soothing treatment but it calms the mind and clears away stress and other negative emotions, it will help re balance your Chakras and restore the energy flow throughout your body.

The passage below was posted as a Daily OM back in 2008, but it is so true still today!

Create Time For Self-Compassion

Being Gentle With Ourselves

During those times when our lives are filled with what seems to be constant change and growth, it is important to remember that we need to be gentle with ourselves. Since it can be easy to use our energy to keep up with the momentum of our lives, we may not be aware of the fact that we are much more likely to run ourselves down. When things seem to be moving quickly, it is especially essential that we make a point to slow down and be gentle with ourselves.

It might be difficult to notice what is happening to us for we may be so caught up in the whirlwind of our lives that we lose sight of the direction in which things are heading. Being gentle with ourselves doesn’t mean that we don’t accomplish things. Instead it means that we honor ourselves on an ongoing basis and take care of the needs of our bodies.

This means different things to different people. For instance, it could mean having a session with a healer; taking a remedy, herbs, or vitamins; or getting extra sleep. Putting our energy into ourselves in this way helps create space for a more positive, loving, and accepting view of our lives. By setting the intention to do so, we will be more cognizant of our energy levels on a daily basis and more able to replenish them as needed.

The more we are able to treat our bodies with gentleness, the more tenderness and compassion we will call forth into our lives. Learning to understand and pay attention to what our self needs will in turn allow us to fill our lives with unlimited loving and healing energy and to truly take care of the things that mean the most to us.

When should you Consider Using Reiki on your animal:

Reiki is an ideal therapy to use with animals because it is holistic in nature and a therapy that compliments and supports all other holistic therapies, including veterinary medicine. Reiki is a valuable part of a combined approach to healing and health maintenance.

Reiki can help:
  • When an animal is unwell: Reiki helps the healing process and works with any type of medical intervention.
  • When an animal has been through any type of trauma or surgery.
  • During or following an illness.
  • If an animal has experienced any type of abuse, neglect, loss or move, or if they exhibit signs of depression.
  • If they appear to be having behavioral issues, especially if associated with any of the above.
  • When an animal has fear or trust issues.
  • To maintain health.
  • To enhance relaxation and provide an emotional sense of peace and contentment.
  • To help facilitate a peaceful passing: Reiki doesn't change the natural order of events, but it provides compassionate support to help an animal make the transition, when the time has come to pass away. As it is a gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, therefore more peaceful for all concerned.

Reiki can be used on any animal large or small, young or old and most importantly in any setting.

With Reiki, animals do not have to be confined or restrained to be treated. The animal retains a large degree of control over how much Reiki they will take and under what circumstances.

There are many ways of giving Reiki to animals but briefly (I will do another blog on this in more detail) there is “Distant Reiki” this may be as simple as being in same room/vicinity as the animal to a different town/city/country and even sending Reiki to past/future events. “Hands above" the animal, some animals prefer this every time but others will prefer “Hands on”.

Whichever form of Reiki is to be used it is all as effective and should be judged on an individual basis but such factors as the safety of all involved (wild, fractious or aggressive animals should be treated with distant) will be taken into consideration.

I will finish this short introduction to animal Reiki with; every animal is different and unique, as with humans, and only by working with them, not on them! Will you see, and feel, the profound unconditional love and acceptance of animals and Reiki, it truly is amazing.

Love and light
